II have been counselling for over 17 years, 15 years of which has been working in GP surgeries dealing with a huge variety of individual needs and issues. I am BACP accredited and qualified to MA level.
About 5 years ago I decided to specialise in trauma work and began training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am an accredited practitioner of EMDR, an intervention recommended in the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) government guidelines, which is often used in trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder cases.

My interest in EAP began after I had completed a 2 year course in Equine Behaviour and I began to wonder if I could join my therapy work with my love of horses. I have completed my Level 1 Eagala training and am now in a position to offer EAP.

It is an extraordinary therapy where horses mirror, reflect and initiate events in the sessions. The horses touch people in a way many other therapies cannot. The behaviour of the horses cannot be manipulated, this means that a patient is confronted in a unique way, making it very difficult for them to deny the outcomes.
