Tina Short - Specialist Youth Social Worker

Tina ShortHaving worked with young people and families for a number of years within different settings, I decided to train as a social worker (DipSW). After qualifying, I entered the Criminal Justice System (Youth Offending Service) as an early intervention worker as I love prevention work. Being part of the Young Runaways Project, the role then expanded into the looked after children's intervention lead and I am now the Substance Misuse and Sexual Health Practitioner. I am a student counsellor (BACP diploma in integrative counselling) and attend regular training for my personal and professional development to enhance my practice.

My love and hobby of horses and their therapeutic and calming effects on people led me to search the internet to see how i could combine my work with both. This was how I discovered EAGALA and immediately booked myself onto a Level 1 training course. I have since followed up on Part 2, where the potential for this to have a real positive impact on clients dealing with a whole range of issues affecting all age groups interests me greatly, especially due to the experiential learning experience that it provides.
