About Shine for Life

Helen Brown - Therapist

I am a psychology graduate with an integrative diploma in counselling and psychotherapy. I have trained in CBT, PTSD and Trauma Focused Counselling.  I also have a diploma in hypnotherapy and like to incorporate Mindfulness in my therapy sessions.

I have had my own private practice for the past 5 years, where I see clients with a wide range of issues, including children, families, adults and couples.  Prior to this I had many years’ experience working with children and families in a variety of settings, including the role of therapist in a residential school for children and adolescents with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties

In a voluntary capacity I facilitate a monthly support group and offer assistance as a drop - in advisor once a week for The Friends and Families Network, Crawley. This service is funded by the West Sussex Drug and Alcohol Action Team. I am also a volunteer Panel Member with the West Sussex Youth Offending Service.

Having been a long term horse enthusiast, when I met Gabrielle I was intrigued by EAP and the opportunities it offered and  am delighted to be working with Shine for Life.

Professional Memberships held: British Psychological Society, (BPS), Counselling Society, (MCS) and British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, (BABCP). As members, practitioners are bound by the Societies' Professional Codes of Ethics
